Supper Club will launch its inaugural edition in Hong Kong in March 2024, showcasing over 20 international and regional galleries. The event takes place from 25 to 30 March and is co-organised with the Fringe Club.
Initiated by three Hong Kong gallerists—Willem Molesworth and Ysabelle Cheung of PHD Group, and Alex Chan of THE SHOPHOUSE—Supper Club focuses on emerging and experimental presentations curated by Anqi Li and will also include live performances and panel talks.
The event will take place across several spaces within the historic Fringe Club, a Grade 1 heritage building that was a former cold storage warehouse for Dairy Farm. The historic site played an instrumental role in Hong Kong’s experimental arts scene in the 1980s and 1990s and now focuses on bringing innovative and avant-garde art, music and theatre to its exhibition and performance spaces.
Inspired by the digestive nature of looking at and consuming culture, Supper Club aims to disrupt the conventional art fair paradigm and reinvent the art selling and socialising experience. Extended nighttime hours until 1am invites visitors to wander in and linger, as they meander through interconnected rooms, adapted by BEAU Architects for the occasion.
